What is Claude Code?
Claude Code is an AI coding agent from Anthropic that you run from your terminal. You describe what you want in plain language, and it reads your project, proposes changes, edits files and runs commands, while you stay in control and review what it does.
Who is it for?
- Complete beginners who want to build something real without memorising syntax first.
- Professionals and founders who want to prototype ideas faster.
- Developers who want a second pair of hands for tests, refactoring and debugging.
What it does not replace
An agent is not a substitute for understanding. You still need to know what you are asking for, how to check the result and when to say no. That judgement is the real skill, and it can be learned.
How to start
- Set up a small workspace and a simple goal, such as a to-do web app.
- Ask for one small step at a time and read every change.
- Add tests and ask the agent to explain what it changed.
- Repeat on a slightly bigger project.
